7th Southeast Asian Studies Symposium
What is Southeast Asia? Exploring Uniqueness and Diversity
If your abstract is accepted and you have paid the registration fee for the 7th Southeast Asia Symposium 2018, you are encouraged to submit manuscripts before 15 March 2018 in MS. Word and PDF format.
Final manuscripts must be sent to sil@ui.ac.id
We accept the submission of high quality papers describing original and unpublished results of conceptual, constructive, experimental and theoretical work of research in Southeast Asia Uniqueness and Diversities. Submission of a manuscript shall not be under consideration for publication elsewhere.
Organizer will submit manuscripts to three journals as follow:
- IOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science
Manuscripts related to uniqueness and diversity of Southeast Asia’s earth, people and environment will be submitted for publication in the IOP conference series proceeding. The proceeding (ISSN: 17551307) is indexed in Scopus since 2011. More information can be seen at http://iopscience.iop.org/journal/1755-1315. - Makara Hubs-Asia
HUBS Asia seeks to advance understanding on human behavior in Asia through the publication of empirical research articles that may stimulate further research. The Journal (ISSN: 1693-6701; E-ISSN: 2406-9183) is formerly known as MAKARA Seri C: Bidang Sosial Humaniora. Prior to that, it was known as Jurnal Penelitian Universitas Indonesia MAKARA (Research journal of Universitas Indonesia, Makara), which has been published since 1997. Manuscripts based on original research related to community engagement program will be submitted for publication in the ASEAN Journal of Community Engagement. The Journal (ISSN: 25809563) is an open access and free journal. It is indexed in Google Scholar and soon will be indexed in DOAJ, Cross-Ref member, EBSCO, Scopus and Thomson Reuter. Please select one journal for your publication and submit your manuscript following the template and requirements of your targeted journal.
- IOP Conference Series: Earth and Environmental Science
The manuscript is prepared in MS Word or LaTeX2e templates in an A4 paper size using Times New Roman 12 font. The title should be brief and not exceed 20 words. The manuscript shall be brief and not exceed 8 single-spaced pages (including references, notes, tables and figure). The manuscripts is prepared in MS Word (version 7.0 or later) with size of 12 Times New Roman font, single-spaced, The link to author guideline: http://hubsasia.ui.ac.id/page/author-guidelines/. - ASEAN Journal of Community Engagement
There are two type of manuscript you can submit: Review Paper and Research Paper. The manuscript must be formatted to 30 mm margins, single-spaces, cambria 12 point font in A4 size paper. The manuscript is written in English and shall not be longer than 10 pages, including references, endnotes, tables and figures. It should be written in English. Full Paper Reviewing Process
- All manuscripts will be subjected to double blind peer-review and are expected to meet the scientific criteria of novelty and academic excellence.
- The submitting author is responsible for ensuring that the article’s publication has been approved by all other co-authors and takes responsibility for the paper during submission and peer review.
- The publisher will not be held legally responsible should there be any claims for compensation.

Full Paper Submission Process
- The full manuscript must be submitted as a MS Word and PDF document and named with author(s) name.
- All manuscripts should be in English. Please ensure that your manuscript does not contain grammatical or English errors. This is especially important in English is not your first language.
- Download the author guideline and template.
- Manuscripts that do not follow the format will be rejected.
- If the paper requires revisions after review, we will send it back to you with comments and you must send the corrected paper within one week.
